Brighton and Sussex Medical School - Virtual Work Experience

This course provides a 'virtual' work experience for those looking to apply to medical school. You will be introduced to the NHS before exploring the roles and skill sets of six different medical specialists. Along the way, you will also consider some of the challenges and wider issues doctors face.

Hospital placements for medicine, nursing, midwifery & dentistry applicants

 

Premed Projects arranges medical work experience in hospitals throughout the UK, India and Thailand. Students join them for a 2-week placement, shadowing doctors in a variety of departments. During the week, students stay in the Premed Projects house, fully supported by comprehensive staff teams. 

 

This is your opportunity to raise the profile of your C.V and get a real sense of what it's like to work in a hospital environment. Projects are available for either one or two weeks, during half term holidays and the summer break. There is also the chance to undertake a 1-Day UCAS preparation Day in London.

Topics range from using smart technology in medicine to the importance of clinical communication, and you will even get the chance to discover what life is like for a submarine medical officer.
